I still have my Bren Mk 1 parts kit and I am still planning to do a semiauto build. My problem is time and money so I have been trying to master other skills before I start work on the Bren project. I gave up on trying to track an active project like these on a webpage as I have a new forums on the website that is much easier for me to work with. Please Visit the Forums here! I will be posting relevant info, conversion methods, and drawings as soon as I get a chance!
BREN MK 1 Kit

Bren Mk 1 mounted on a Bren
Tripod
Following are pics of my Bren MK I Parts Kit that I
just purchased. After using up quite a few old t-shirts to wipe
off the grease I think she looks good enough for a few photos. I
am planning to build this Bren LMG into a semiautomatic Bren at some
point in the future. I will work on adding additional historical
details about the Bren and links that will help you decide if you
would like to try to build your own Semiautomatic Bren!

Following is some advise I got about these parts from "Tim"
who was nice enough to look at some pics that were not as
detailed or clear as the new pics I just uploaded and he
provided the following info about my parts kit:
Referring to your
questions on the
BREN
LMG Forums, I looked at your
pics and you have the following:
Body group
Mk1m Late 40 machining processes were deleted to make
the gun faster to make hence you only have one dovetail
block not two .
Butt Group
Mk2 butt group in photo
Bipod
Mk1 Correct for Mk1m as well .
Barrels
Short
flash cone Barrel: Last
production Mk1 barrel, has the short flash cone but still
has stainless front end. This was brought in about
the same time as the Mk1m
Long
flash cone Barrel: Early
production Mk1 barrel ,has the long flash cone with
stainless front end. Very nice and not too many kicking
about, at least here in UK. I don't know about over
in the States and Canada.
Barrel locknut
Sorry couldn't see the detail on it properly.
Bolt and piston
Sorry cant find my parts book at the moment but the piston
is not Mk1 But is correct for a Mk1 m onwards
Manufacturer:
EnfielD
